The Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-stage charger with built-in Bluetooth.
For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where the (smart) alternator and the start battery are used to charge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be remotely controlled via a remote on/off switch and has an engine running detection mechanism.
The Orion-Tr Smart charger can be used in 12V or 24V systems and is suitable for both lead acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power.
Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a full rated output up to 40°C.
Bluetooth Smart enabled

Adaptive 3-stage charge algorithm: bulk ā absorption ā float
- For lead acid batteries, it is important that during shallow discharges the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to make sure that the battery is completely recharged.
- For lithium batteries absorption time is fixed, default 2 hours.
- Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be chosen.
Suitable for use in vehicles with a smart alternator (Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines)
- The built-in engine shutdown detection will stop the converter when the engine is not running. This prevents unwanted discharge of the starter battery.
Remote on/off
- A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected to a two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery plus, or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery minus (or the chassis of a vehicle, for example).
All models are short circuit proof and can be paralleled to increase output current

Victron Energy Product Warranty
Victron Energy warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the end-user, with a maximum of 66 months from the Victron Energy invoice date. Exceptions on this are: lead-acid batteries; 2 years from date of purchase by the end-user, with a maximum of 30 months from the Victron Energy invoice date, Lithium batteries; 3 years from date of purchase by the end-user. In addition to this, proof of correct battery usage is required when making a battery warranty claim.
For a 10% surcharge on the net price for products that came with a 5-year warranty, an additional 5 years of warranty can be purchased, bringing the total warranty to 10 years. Warranty extensions need to be applied for ultimately one year before expiration of the original term.
During the warranty period, Victron Energy will, at its discretion, repair, replace or credit the defective product free of charge. The warranty does not include performing or reimbursing deāinstallation, transportation, and reāinstallation. This warranty will be considered void if the unit has suffered any physical damage or alteration, either internally or externally, and does not cover damages arising from improper use like:
⢠Reverse of battery polarity.
⢠Inadequate connection.
⢠Mechanical shock or deformation.
⢠Contact with liquid or oxidation by condensation.
⢠Use in an inappropriate environment(dust, corrosive vapor, humidity, high temperature, biological infestation...).Ā
⢠Breakage or damage due to lightning.
⢠Connection terminals and screws destroyed or other damages, like overheat, due to insufficient tightening.
⢠For any electronic breakage except due to lightning (reverse polarity, overāvoltage due to external cause), the state of the internal control diode and/or the input/output X and Y capacitors determine the warranty.
This warranty will not apply where the product has been misused, neglected, improperly installed, or repaired by anyone else than Victron Energy or one of its authorized Repair Centres. In order to qualify for the warranty, the product must not be disassembled or modified.
Repair, replacement or credit are our sole remedies and Victron Energy shall not be liable for damages, whether direct, incidental, special, or consequential, even caused by negligence or fault.
Victron Energy owns all parts removed from repaired products. Victron Energy uses new or reconditioned parts made by various manufacturers when performing warranty repairs or building replacement products. If Victron Energy repairs or replaces a part of a product, its warranty term is not extended.
All remedies and the measure for damages are limited to the above.
Victron Energy shall in no event be liable for consequential, incidental, contingent or special damages, even if having been advised of the probability of such damages. Any and all other warranties expressed or implied arising by law, course of dealing, course of performance, usage of trade or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase, with the exception of batteries. For lead acid batteries a two (2) year period applies and for lithium batteries a three (3) year period applies.
